I really can't believe that we are already in 2011, but personally I am glad to see the back of 2010, which was not the best year of my life. After suffering a nasty car accident back in June I suffered neck and back whiplash injuries, and am still suffering them now 6 months later. The last 6 months has been a blur of chiropractor, physiotherapist and GP appointments, and I am now managing the pain with regular top ups to my chiropractor and painkillers, light exercise (quilting) and knowing when to take regular breaks !!
On a happier note, I took advantage of the holiday period to finish piecing my quilt top which is just for fun really, asthere is no intended recipient or any bed or sofa in mind.
I also started and completed a large customer quilt, from my first "international" customer from Belgium. I was very pleased with the result - it was a stunning quilt and I did not want to detract too much from the piecing effect, so I quilted swirls in the centre of the quilt and piano keys in the wide outer borders. It looks great, even if I do say so myself !! Perhaps if I can get my customers permission, I can post some photos soon !!! I was so tempted to put my quilt on my frame first, but now it will just have to wait until February, as January is already booked to be a busy month !!
